In the time Elan has been established as a marketing company, we have written hundreds of marketing proposals and marketing plans, and designed many thousands of creative pieces for our clients, and the ability to achieve a well planned spend for a successful marketing campaign comes down to a few key objectives.
Many businesses and have spent money on marketing sometimes only ever dip their toes seeing marketing as a quick fix to induce more sales. This is totally the wrong ethos when it comes to marketing. Although sometimes a quick fix can often provide tremendous results, marketing should be an ongoing process, and a process that continually brings results to the table.
We have come across many businesses that have historically spent a huge amount of money on advertising with very little results. When you actually analyse what has happened, there are very often quite simple reasons why they have not seen the results they desire. This can be poorly executed advertisements, the wrong type of media and quite often the wrong publications. If you can get all three correct, success can arrive in abundance.
Understanding the clients business is essential to any successful marketing company and along with a clear understanding of the target audience allows them to create the lynchpins of successful campaigning. Historical sales histories, why existing clients buy, company USP’s and previous marketing attempts (successful or otherwise) are very important in trying to achieve future marketing success. With limited information comes limited opportunity and knowledge can be very powerful when it comes to marketing.
It still amazes us how many businesses do not gauge results from their marketing. This of course can be difficult, but this information is priceless when it comes to choosing an effective marketing spend for the future.
