Owing to Elan’s graphic design and marketing consultancy input over a period of two years, The Fennes is now recognised as one of the most popular country house wedding venues in North Essex. Established as a venue for over twenty years, The Fennes has a reputation for it’s innovation and forward thinking attitudes, it being one of the first venues to be licenced for civil wedding ceremonies in the UK. On appointing Elan, they found a partner that reflected those values and enabled them to reach wider audience whilst reducing their marketing spend.

When Elan first visited the Fennes in May 2006 the venue was struggling for bookings and well down on its targets for the financial year. Their incumbent agency provided little in the way of a fresh approach to the problems they faced and Elan were appointed work in conjunction with their marketing department to oversee and advise on the marketing requirements of the venue.

With an extensive advertising budget, producing advertisements that promoted the correct messages and evoked positive emotions were a key factor to marketing success The Fennes. Our subsequent re-design of their advertising, by creating effective campaigns, saw a dramatic increase in the popularity of the venue and led to the best year in the history of the venue, surpassing expected levels of bookings threefold. During the 2007-8 financial year the Fennes reported that enquiry rates more than doubled and bookings have once again broken the previous record year.

We aimed to break new ground in the way venues advertise, and introduced subtle lifestyle messages and images to the advertising, which in turn provided more desire and stronger calls to action. This was incredibly successful, and a virtually untapped direction for the marketing of wedding venues. Elan also worked with the Fennes in the following areas:-
