When we first formed Elan as a marketing and design consultancy, our vision was to create a company that took the opportunity to capitalise on some significant changes that were happening within the agency environment at the time.

“Marketing” during the 80s and 90s was traditionally reserved for big corporates with big budgets who ploughed all their marketing money into large consumer based campaigns. Into the new century and with a more media savvy customer base, both consumer and business to business, marketing has evolved and there is a much greater demand and requirement for marketing amongst all kinds of businesses.

Coupled with the increase in the awareness of what marketing can achieve for you, there has had to be a big shift in the attitude towards the

client from an agency perspective; clients were telling agencies that they needed to be more proactive, transparent and take some responsibility for a client's return on investment. Many agencies have been guilty of spending a lot of client's money providing marketing collateral that is totally ineffective and ends up gathering dust in the company's broom cupboard. These agencies then just sat back and waited for the client to tell them what to do next!

When we set up Elan, we carried out a lot of research in this area, and from this designed and built our service to fit the new ideal of how an agency should operate. At the core of this is our client portal, which, through an online resource accessed via our site, creates transparency and understanding of cost and detail the work required to substantiate that cost.

Additionally, and key to our thinking, is the return on marketing investment we achieve for our clients . We live and die by the results that our clients see and success has been forthcoming, with some exciting growth for many of our clients and of course of our own company as a result!
