Mark Fiddes - Creative Services Director
As a long time business owner and having built successful agencies in the passed, Elan is a true outsourced marketing department for our clients. I had the vision of what Elan should become a number of years ago, and now we have an agency that is creating a huge amount of success for its regular and retained clients.
My background has crossed many industry sectors, with a large focus on SME business in the region, and also specialised in two particular sectors, Property and Voluntary. My own personal skills originally developed from being a Graphic Designer which I still very much enjoy, but also include account management and client liaison. Having worked in this wonderful industry for all of my working live and more years than I care to mention, I have seen the wave of transformation from purely traditional media to digital. My expertise covers all area of media, and how the integration of mediums can have a major impact on business success.
I am also a Rotarian and BNI member locally, and enjoy the communication you get from meeting other like minded local business people. Although as a company, Elan's business stretches through the south of the UK and overseas.
This wonderful industry is constantly bringing new challenges as it continues to evolve, and as I always say, 'every day is a school day', which is absolutely true as you continue to learn new techniques and strategies that create a significant positive impact on our clients businesses. You continually live, breath and strengthen your emotional attachment to marketing and all it stands for. An experience that I am proud to ackowledge and be part of!

Well, this is me – marketing professional, mum of two, serial Rotarian (www.ribi.org) and Managing Director of the most amazing little agency in Essex.
OK, so I am biased of course but if you look around our website you will see how much for yourself how passionate we are about marketing and making it work for our clients.
So how did I come to be sitting here (as MD of the most amazing little agency in Essex!) on a summer’s day enjoying the beautiful rural view from our office?
Well. For more years than I care to remember (or would even admit to - ok, so it is 20 years this year – gulp) .... I have worked at every level of the marketing industry both client and agency side. With all that experience and a marketing qualification under my belt, what else was I to do except spread the word to businesses who want to know they are not alone in striving for improved marketing communications and that we are of course there to help!
Together with my team at Elan, we have delivered consistently successful, fully integrated “fusion” marketing campaigns for growth on behalf of clients large and small with staggering results - our work has helped to generate over £6m in business growth over the last two years. Our aim is marketing success for our clients, which translates into real return on investment which is accountable and measured.
These days, as well as all recommending the expected traditional marketing methods, we have a strong digital marketing department made up of in house staff and partners – our innovation is a reflection of how new technologies have become such an intrinsic part of the marketing mix and we have to keep up.
We don’t just “do digital” though - we never ignore the more traditional methods of marketing and believe that the perfect mix for all but a VERY few businesses is a balance of the two approaches, ensuring that you permeate your prospects and clients at every level.
