Advice

A great career!

Working in marketing whether you are an Account Manager, Copywriter, Graphic Designer or Media Buyer is certainly an exciting career to be involved with, and those of us who have enjoyed many years in this industry also look upon our chosen subject as a way of life. We’re the guys who enjoy the commercial breaks, and don’t complain about too many advertisements on television. After all this is our industry!

So how do you get into this industry

Every year thousands of graduates in Marketing or Graphic Design enter this industry, but to be successful you have to be creative in all job roles. Most agencies actively encourage every member of staff to explore their creative ability and become an important member of the team.

If you are fresh out of University or College and looking to explore a career in marketing, our advice is to be creative, show your potential employer just how creative you can be. So get creative with your CV and pitch.

Those of you who are looking for Graphic Design positions need to portray a commercial element around your creativity. One of our common questions when interviewing a potential Graphic Designer is “What was the brief for this project” or “What do you think this will or has achieved for the client”. After all, your creative input should be results driven, and appropriate to the brief!
